Before Your Appointment
Thank you for scheduling your tattoo appointment with me. While I am working on your design for your upcoming appointment; there are several things listed below that will make your tattoo experience more comfortable and help your tattoo heal quickly and to the level you’ve come to expect.
-
You cannot be tattooed while pregnant, nor on ANY antibiotics or blood thinners. Antibiotic regiments and blood thinning medications need to be completed at least one week prior to you being tattooed.
-
You must be at least eighteen years old with proper (government issued) identification. Minors aged sixteen or seventeen must have a notarized release form, government identification and have a parent with identification who will be present during your tattoo
-
You cannot be tattooed while under the influence of alcohol and it is advised to avoid alcohol the night before your appointment. Alcohol will increase dehydration while making your skin more prone to irritation and bleeding during your tattoo.
-
You need to advise us prior to being tattooed as to any allergies (including latex allergies) you have. Also if you have or have had any communicable diseases; to include but not limited to Diabetes, Hepatitis, Heart Disease, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, HIV, Hemophilia or Venereal Diseases.
-
The area where you are to get your tattoo needs to be free of any rashes, allergic reactions, pimples, insect or animal bites, scars, bruises or abrasions of any kind.
-
You need to be aware that you cannot go swimming nor can the tattoo be submerged in any type of water (Salt, Fresh, Treated or Chlorinated) for the duration of the healing process (usually two weeks). So if planning an upcoming vacation, please allow proper healing time of your tattoo.
-
Your tattoo must be kept out of prolonged direct sunlight for the duration of the healing process (usually two weeks). After which sun block needs to be applied to protect your tattoo from solar UV rays that will damage your tattoo. Sun block cannot be used during the healing process as the ingredients in some products may react badly with the tattoo.
-
All design work needs to be coordinated with your artist prior to your appointment. We want to have everything ready to go to your specifications before you arrive for your appointment as to not have you waiting any longer than necessary.
The points listed above are in place to assure your tattoo experience can be as comfortable and productive as possible. We appreciate you and want to give you the best possible tattoo.
